CMS WISeR in Washington

Verify model scope and preserve a privacy-conscious boundary between internal records and public preparation tools.

Reviewed July 24, 2026 • CMS guide v7.0, updated July 24, 2026

CMS and the assigned official participant’s current instructions control. WISeRly is independent, not CMS-affiliated or endorsed, not an official WISeR participant, does not issue determinations, and does not guarantee authorization or payment.

Washington preparation framework

Verify

Validate location, Medicare program, service/code, setting, date, and exemptions from the current official source.

Minimize

Use only the information necessary for the authorized official workflow. Keep PHI out of public pages, demos, emails, and unapproved systems.

Handoff

Transmit only through the assigned participant’s authorized channel and retain receipts and official notices according to policy.

Notice and deadline discipline

Use the deadline and instructions stated in the official communication. Escalate ambiguity to the participant or CMS contact rather than guessing. Keep preparation status distinct from official status, and authorization status distinct from payment.

Technology boundary: enhanced technology or AI-assisted review is not a human clinical determination. WISeRly does not make clinical determinations and cannot override, reproduce, or predict an official decision.
